PURPOSE:To reduce cost from simplified constitution and improved productivity by constituting a titled device in such a way that a reflection mirror for scanning and exposing is formed to permit transmission of a part of a laser beam and the transmitted light thereof is made incident to a position detecting sensor. CONSTITUTION:The laser beam from a semiconductor laser 1 is passed through a polygonal scanner 3 and a focusing optical system 4 by which the laser beam is made incident as an incident beam 21 to a reflection mirror 20. The component reflected by the surface thereof arrives as a reflecting beam 23 at a photosensitive body 8 and exposes said body. A part thereof transmits the mirror insides and transmits the reflecting surface to the rear thereof as a transmitted beam 26 which is made incident to a position detecting sensor 7 in the stage of starting recording. When the sensor 7 detects the beam 26, a driving circuit 10 starts operating and drives an image signal part 11. Exposing for one scanning from the right to the left end of the body 8 is accomplished.
