PURPOSE:To adjust a clearance between a roll chock and a cross head by providing a clutch capable of adjusting a transmitting torque from a driving motor to cross-head driving system arranged oppositely at both ends of roll chocks. CONSTITUTION:A pair of cross heads 10, 11 for moving a roll chock 8 is provided with a driving mechanism which has jacks 4, 5 used for moving horizontally the cross heads 10, 11 in contact with them and is moved by a motor 15, etc., and also each moving mode for moving the heads 10, 11 while synchronizing them to the same direction or reverse one or separately to constitute a titled device so that rolls 2 are crossed each other by selecting the moving mode and aer held at an optional position; and clutches 16, 17 capable of adjusting a transmitting torque from the motor 15 are provided to said driving mechanism. By this construction, a clearance between the roll chock and the cross head can be adjusted at any time and in a short time. |
