PURPOSE:To make the work rolls of a small-diameter mill shiftable by attaching vertically rockable roll chocks and thrust bearings to roll supporting blocks and making the rolls shiftable integrally with the supporting blocks. CONSTITUTION:A rolling mill capable of giving horizontal bending to work rolls 12, 13 as well as shifting them in the axial directions is constituted by attaching vertically rockably roll chocks used for rotatably supporting the rolls 12, 13 and attaching also thrust bearings used for bearing a thrust to work-roll supporting blocks made movable in the width direction of a rolling material. Next, a shifting device is connected to said roll supporting blocks to make the rolls 12, 13 shiftable integrally with the supporting blocks. In this way, the work rolls are made shiftable in the axial directions even in a system which bears a thrust by thrust bearings whose axial lines extend in the directions intersecting perpendicularly with the roll axial lines. |
