摘要 PURPOSE:To eliminate a signal difference at each field, i.e., flicker by providing the 2nd photoelectric converting element independently of a solid-state image pickup element so as to start photoelectric conversion at the same time when the storage of picture elements of the solid-state image pickup element is started thereby controlling the gain of the output of the solid-state image pickup element depending on the stored level. CONSTITUTION:A signal outputted from a solid-state image pickup element 35 becomes a signal having different amplitude at each one field time and flicker is generated if let it go unchanged. A signal proportional to the lighting strength of a fluorescent light is obtained from the 2nd photoelectric converting element 33 and the signal integration of the same time as the picture element of the solid-state image pickup element 35 is applied. An output of the solid-state image pickup element 35 and an output of the photoelectric converting element 33 include a signal component formed by applying time integration of a light from one light source and both signal waveforms are in proportional relation, then when the outputs are divided by a divider 38, the flicker is suppressed completely as is the signals were obtained under a light source whose lighting strength would be unchanged.
