PURPOSE:To relax the feeling of uneasiness at caller side that the presence of an opposite party is not clear over a long time by allowing a multi-function telephone set to respond to an incoming call on another line, retend it and connect it to a talkie device when the incoming call comes to the other line and a line button is flickered while the multi-function telephone set is busy. CONSTITUTION:When an incoming call comes to a line button of a telephone number 211 while the user of the multi-function telephone set 11 uses a line button of a telephone number 210 and in talking with an opposite party of a trunk line 18, and when the line button is flickered, the user can depress the line button subject to flicker display without change a channel in talking with at present. In depressing the line button, a central controller 14 inputting the signal via a line circuit 13 processes it once as if the multi-function telephone set 11 were responded to, retends the line, selects a talkie trunk 19, controls a switch network 16 so as to connect the talkie device 20 to the line connected to the telephone set of the telephone number 211. Thus, a message such as ''please hold the line for the moment.'' is transmitted from the talkie device 20 to the caller. |
