A novel color stain inhibitor is disclosed, which is a compound comprising a phenol or naphthol ring substituted by at least one substituted or unsubstituted sulfamoyl group. Preferred examples of these compounds are represented by the general formula (I): <IMAGE> (I) wherein R1, R2, R3 and Q are as defined herein. In light-sensitive materials containing the color stain inhibitors of the present invention, color stain is efficiently prevented.
