PURPOSE:To control the rate of supply with high accuracy and to enable stable operation by transferring a molten metal of high temp. by a siphon device which permits easy control of a flow rate. CONSTITUTION:A siphon pipe in a siphon device is constituted of an inside pipe 1 and an outside pipe 2. The ends 2b, c, b of the pipe 2 are pressed and fixed to the flanges 3a, b, c fixed to the pipe 1 to form double-layered structure in which a hermetic space 7 is formed between the pipe 1 and the pipe 2. Such siphon device disposed between a ladle contg. a high-temp. molten metal and a tundish or a casting mold or between tundishes or between a tundish and a casting mold. The pressure in the space 7 is adjusted and the deformation of the pipe 1 generated by the pressure difference between the inside of the pipe 1 and the outside of the pipe 1 is suppressed, by which the high-temp. molten metal is transferred respectively to the tundish or the mold. |
