TAIL GAS TREATING METHOD

摘要

PURPOSE:To reduce the installation cost and operation cost of a simple sulfur recovery apparatus, by treating the tail gas from an apparatus for recovering simple sulfur from SO2-containing gas by mixing the same into exhaust gas to be treated in a dry desulfurizing/denitrating apparatus using a carbonaceous adsorbent. CONSTITUTION:SO2-containing gas is treated in an adsorbing process 1 and SO2-containing gas exhausted from a desorbing process 2 is guided to an SO2- reducing process 3 using a carbonaceous material as a reducing agent to be reduced to sulfur, H2S and COS. Subsequently, simple sulfur is recovered in a Claus process 4 and gas after reaction is supplied to a sulfur mist separator 5 to recover sulfur therein while the exhausted tail gas is again mixed into raw exhaust gas directly. Not only O2 but also a sulfur compound such as H2S are adsorbed and removed with the carbonaceous adsorbent in the adsorbing process 1.
