PURPOSE:To obtain an area light emitting source having a large area, which can be deformed, by using a macromolecular film such as a pyrene derivative as a semiconductor constituting the lightguide part of a quantum well laser, and facilitating the miniaturization of the structure and minute machining technology. CONSTITUTION:A first electrode 2 comprising aluminum is deposited on one main surface (lower surface) of a macromolecular film. The first electrode 2 is formed by the evaporation of aluminum and acts as a mirror. Meanwhile, a second electrode 3 comprising aluminum is deposited on the other main surface (upper surface) of the macromolecular film 1. The second electrode 3 is formed by the evaporation of aluminum like the first electrode 2, has the thinner film thickness than that of the first electrode 2, and acts as a half mirror. The macromolecular film comprising macromolecular chains, whose basic structure is pyrene, has the oscillating function of quantum well laser. Electrons are injected into a one-dimensional well type barrier potential, which is formed by the molecule orientation of the conductive macromolecular chains constituting an oscillator. Thus the quantum well laser mechanism is formed. |
