PURPOSE:To prevent the surface of a work from getting rough due to electrolytic corrosion by connecting the machining section consisting of an electrode and a work in parallel with the circuit of a resistance and an inductor connected in series and by applying a voltage reverse to that when in operation to the gap between the electrode and the work when not in operation. CONSTITUTION:A circuit of a resistance R2 and an inductor L in series is connected in parallel to a machining section 1 consisting of an electrode P and a work W. When there is no electric discharge, a transistor T turned off, and a voltage is stopped to be applied to the work W, a current which flows into the gap between the work W and the electrode P reverses its flow in the direction from the electrode P to the work W to apply the reverse voltage 1 to the gap between the work W and the electrode P. When there is an electric discharge, the energy accumulated in the inductor L is reduced, and therefore the gap voltages 2, 3 become lower. So the value of the limit resistance R2 is selected so that the reverse current will be so small as not to cause any discharge. |
