PURPOSE:To reduce thrust applied to a blade angle operating shaft by a method wherein a top, which rotates relative to a rotary shaft, is provided to transmit an axial motion to a blade angle control shaft, in the blade angle control device for hydraulic machine equipped with the movable blade. CONSTITUTION:The blade angle control shaft 2 is penetrated through the central part of the hollow rotary shaft 1 movably into the axial direction thereof while a slide ring 16 is inserted into a coupling 11 through a key 15 movably into the axial direction thereof. A female screw 18a, threaded on the inner periphery of the cylindrical top 18, is screwed to a screw 11a and a spur gear 18c is indented on the outer periphery of the top 18 while the spur gear 24, fixed to the blade angle operating force transmitting shaft 20 parallel to the rotary shaft 1, meshes with the spur gear 18c. According to this constitution, the rotary motion of the top 18 may be converted into an axial direction motion and the size of a bearing, whose thrust is born by the rotary shaft and which bears the thrust of the moving blade, may be reduced since a memberwhich transmits the axial motion of the top 18 to the blade angle control shaft 2 is arranged.
