MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To stabilize performance by forming many kinds of magnetic recording media having different thicknesses and having the bending rigidity equiv. to each other so that the contact with a magnetic head is equivalently maintained even if the thickness varies. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic tape 5 is constituted by coating a magnetic layer 7 on a base body 6 consisting of ''Mylar'' such as polyester or the like. The ''Mylar'' is stretched longitudinally and transversely before coating of the layer 7 and the stretching rate in the transverse direction is so controlled that the equiv. bending rigidity in the transverse direction after forming of the tape 5 is made constant. The contact between many kinds of the magnetic tapes 5 having different thicknesses and a magnetic head 3 is thus equivalently maintained.
