PURPOSE:The titled composition, containing a dibenzylurea based compound and S-(4-chlorobenzyl)-N,N-diethylthiocarbamate as active constituents, and having enhanced herbicidal effect and weeding spectrum by the synergistic action with reduced phytotoxicity. CONSTITUTION:A herbicidal composition containng a compound of the formula (X is H or halogen; R<1> and R<2> are CH3 or C2H5) and S-(4-chlorobenzyl)-N,N- diethylthiocarbamate at 1:0.5-2 weight ratio. The resultant composition has remarkably enhanced weeding spectrum and width of suitable application period by the very remarkable synergistic action of both components and is capable of suppressing th development of weeds almost completely throughout the growth period of paddy rice only by one treatment by mixing of such small amounts as not to contol the weeds fully by the individual components without giving phytotoxicity to paddy rice.
