<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetooptic storage element having good Curie point and Kerr rotation angle by using an amorphous Nd-Gd-Fe ternary alloy thin film, which has an axis of easy magnetization in the direction vertical to the film surface, as a recording medium. CONSTITUTION:Materials of an amorphous alloy thin film 2 which is formed on the surface of a glass substrate 1 by sputtering are an amorphous Nd-Gd-Fe ternary alloy. The amorphous Nd-Gd-Fe ternary alloy thin film has a very good magnetooptic characteristic. That is, its coercive force is adequate (1-2kOe is desirable in respects of easiness of writing and stability of recorded data), and the shape of a hysteresis loop of the magnetic characteristic is angular well, and the Kerr rotation angle indicates a high level.</p> |
