PURPOSE:To obtain a recording and reproducing device where following recording is possible with very easy operation, by recording position information together with main information on a magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:Reference clocks obtained form an oscillating circuit 21 are added to the initial value of a position information generating circuit 22, and the addition value is recorded on a magnetic tape T through a modulating circuit 23 and a recording circuit 24 by a position information recording head 25. The audio signal inputted from an input terminal 16, namely, main information is digitized by a digital encoding circuit 17 and is recorded on the magnetic tape T through a modulating circuit 18 and a recording circuit 19 by a main information recording head 20. When a user operates a following recording key AR on a keyboard 26, a microcomputer 30 sets a mechanism driving circuit 31 to the rewinding state to execute following recording from a prescribed position on the magnetic tape, and thus, conventional complicated operations are eliminated. |
