PURPOSE:To magnetize a bias magnet without an expensive equipment by rotating and moving a package around a magnetizing electromagnet. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic bubble memory package 22 where a memory chip 20, a bias magnet 21, etc. are already mounted is clipped by a package rotating jig 23 and is set into a gap between magnetic poles 24 and 24' of the magnetizing electromagnet. A strong magnetic field with which the bias magnet 21 is sufficiently saturated is applied uniformly while rotating the package 22 along the peripheral part of magnetic poles 24 and 24' to positions 1, 2, 3, and 4. A magnetic field in the reverse direction is applied little by little to degauss the package while rotating the package 22 similarly to the preceding stage, and a bias magnetic field is set in the about center of an operation margin. Thus, a stable magnetic field superior in uniformity and reproducibility is supplied easily to the chip without using an expensive equipment neither complicating the process even in case of a high-density bubble memory. |
