PURPOSE:To improve start and stop operations by allowing the diameter and the height of magnetic bubbles to have a specific relation and setting the spacing between a magnetic bubble magnetic layer and a magnetic bubble transfer pattern layer to a specific value or less when magnetic bubbles are made minute. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic bubble magnetic layer 2' has such thickness that a magnetic bubble 2a' is flat to satisfy h<=0.75d where (d) is the diameter of the magnetic bubble 2a' and (h) is the height of the magnetic bubble 2a'. A spacing l2 between a ''Permalloy'' pattern layer 6 and the magnetic bubble magnetic layer 2' is formed with <=3,000Angstrom thickness. Thus, the magnetic bubble coercive force of the layer 6' is enhanced to improve start and stop characteristics.
