PURPOSE:To obtain an uniform annealing effect by providing a speed detector of a wire rod and a controller for controlling the cooling water in accordance with the signal of the detector, and changing the amt. of the feed water in accordance with the speed of the wire rod to be annealed. CONSTITUTION:The continuous annealing apparatus consists of a lower electrode roller 5, an U-shaped water chamber 4 housing said roller, a sealing water tank 8 contg. sealing water to be supplied to said water chamber, a pump 9 for supplying the sealing water W to the water chamber 4 from said water tank, an upper electrode roller 6 and a guide roller 7 arranged above said water chamber 4, a speed detector 16 for detecting the linear speed of a wire rod 13, and a controller (motor valve) 17. The amt. of water supplied into the water chamber 4 is controlled by said controller 17 in accordance with the output of the detector 16, and the amt. of the supply water is increased or decreased with the increase and decrease in the linear speed of the wire rod 13. And the wire rod 13 is travelled continuously through rollers 6, 5, and 7, and annealed while travelling by passing a current between the rollers 5 and 6. |
