PURPOSE:To enable complicated control of the injection timing and the injection quantity of a fuel injection pump easily by a simple apparatus, by disposing an electronically controlled solenoid valve in a return passage for returning fuel discharged from the fuel injection pump to a fuel tank. CONSTITUTION:Fuel A discharged from a feed pump 2 is supplied to a pump chamber 11 of each fuel injection pump 4 via a check valve 3, and when a plunger 7 is moved downward by a cam 8, it is supplied from the pump cham ber 11 to an injection nozzle 5 via a fuel supply passage 17 as pressurized fuel A. When a solenoid valve 19 is energized by an electronic control means 24 and a return passage 18 is closed by a needle valve 21, all of the pressurized fuel A is supplied to the injection nozzle 5. On the other hand, when the solenoid vavle 19 is not energized and the needle valve 21 is pushed by a spring 23 to the position for opening the return passage 18, fuel A discharged from the pump chamber 11 is returned to a fuel tank 1 via the return passage 18 and injection of fuel from the injection nozzle 5 is interrupted. |
