The phenylethanol amine derivs. I (R = t-butyl, cyclobutyl, 1- methylcyclobutyl; R1 = hydrogen, amide; R2 = amide) and their pharamcelogically permissible salts, useful as medicine for asmatic condition, are prepd. by the reduction of compds. II. Thus, tbutyl amine 1.3 ml is added to 4 g bis-3,5-(N,N-dimethylcarbamoyloxy) phenylglyoxalmonoethylacetal in 100 ml ethanol, being refluxed 1hr, the soln. is mixed with 0.8g NaBH4 in 20 ml water and then this mixture produces 1-[bis-3',5'-(N,N-dimethylcarbamoyloxy)phenyl -2N- tert-butylamino ethanol.
