PURPOSE:To form a blank with proper width by moving a main lens to a specific position according to the operation of a file key, and copying an original image at specific reducing magnification. CONSTITUTION:When the file key is pressed to form blanks symmetrically the main lens is separated from an original on an optical axis to reduce and form an image on a photosensitive drum at magnification (L1-2l2)/L1 as shown by (b) or form symmetrically blanks with width l2 to both sides if a copy paper is of the same size with the original. When the main lens 16 is moved by L1l2/2(L1- l2) at right angles to the optical axis as shown by (c), the image formed on the photosenstive drum is moved by l2 to form a blank with width l1 (=2l2) only at one side of the copy form. Consequently, a proper blank is formed in a copied image and forms are prevented from being wasted.
