PURPOSE:To facilitate the movement of frames and enlarged projection of a desired part by running a carrier through a holder and providing click mechanism which indicates the position of a normal frame between both, and allowing the whole holder to rotate. CONSTITUTION:The holding mechanism for the film carrier 300 of a film projection device is interposed between an upper structure 200 and a lower structure 100, and a holding means moves the carrier 300 which contains a film FM to be projected in two dimensions in a plane perpendicular to the optical axis of an optical system consisting of a light source, lens system, etc. This holding means is provided with a guide means which guides the film carrier 300 in the lengthwise direction of the film FM in cooperation with the film carrier when the film carrier 300 is at a normal position in the direction perpendicular to the lengthwise direction.
