NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (R<1> and R<2> are H or lower alkyl; X is O or S; n is 1/2-3; n is 0-3) and a thiourea adduct thereof. EXAMPLE:An adduct of (5R,6S,8R)-6-(1hydroxyethyl)-2-(1-acetimidolypyrrolidin-3- ylthio)-2-carbapenem-3-carboxylic acid with urea. USE:An antimicrobial agent for purifying carbapenem antibiotic substances. The adduct has low toxicity. PREPARATION:A compound of formula II is brought into contact with excess urea or thiourea in an organic solvent to give the aimed compound of formula I . The contact process is carried out using 1.5-10 equivalents, usually 1.5-5 equivalents urea, etc. in methanol. |
