PURPOSE:To automatically adjust an upper regist to a set point, by a method wherein printing is conducted by an image-generating circuit for generating a printing signal at an arbitrary timing, and the deviation of a measured value of an upper regist from a set point is detected. CONSTITUTION:In response to a power source throwing-in signal supplied to a terminal 27, the image-generating circuit 22 supplies a starting signal ST to a controlling circuit 18 through an OR circuit 30, and supplies the printing signal DS to a thermal head 10 through an OR circuit 21. A difference-calculating circuit 25 compares a time count signal T from a timer 23 with an upper regist reference time TS transferred from a reference value setter 24, and the controlling circuit 18 outputs a preset correction value signal PC for a preset timer 29 in accordance with a difference signal from the circuit 25. |
