PURPOSE:To prevent a necessary area of a liquid crystal display part from reduction by notching a part of one glass substrate which corresponds to an unnecessary part of a liquid crystal display surface opposed to two glass substrates and mounting semiconductor elements such as ICs for liquid crystal driving circuits on the other glass substrate at a part corresponding to the notched part. CONSTITUTION:A liquid crystal display element 1 is constituted of two glass substrates 1A, 1B. Liquid crystal is sandwiched between the two opposed parts and its peripheral part is sealed. In addition, respective electrodes for 7-segment/ 4-digit display 4A and bar graph display 4B are formed in the inside of the glass substrates 1A, 1B so that inner connection lines can be connected to the external to form a liquid crystal display part 2A. Since the left upper part of a display pattern on the liquid crystal display surface 2A is an unnecessary part for display because of the lack of a display segment or the like, a part corresponding to the unnecessary display part is notched rectangularly on any one glass substrate 1A and ICs 3A, 3B or the like for liquid crystal driving circuits are mounted on the other glass substrate 1B at a position corresponding to the notched part 5A. |
