PURPOSE:To attain the reproduction of a record signal with high quality by varying the record starting position of the information signal so that the most outer circumference of an information signal recordable band of a disk where the recording is carried out from the inner circumferential side to the outer circumferential side can be defined as a record end position. CONSTITUTION:For an information recording disk such as a video disk, etc. where the information is recorded concentrically or spirally, the inner circumferential side of the disk is disadvantageous to reproduction of a high-quality signal. In this respect, the record starting position is defined for a disk where the information signals are recorded and reproduced from the inner circumferential side to the outer circumferential side so that the record end position is approximately coincident with the most outer circumference of a recordable band. For instance, the information signals are recorded within the width 7 between recording tracks 6-a and 6-b. Then the record start position 6-a is set so that the end of a program is nearly coincident with the most outer circumference of the recordable band.
