Fireplace for heating with hot air production. It comprises a hearth grid 3, a smoke discharge duct 18, with a fresh air intake duct 7, and an ambient air recirculation duct 8, these two ducts ending in a mixing chamber 32 containing a fan 30. An air regulation flap 26, controlled by a motor 28, is placed in the mixing chamber 32, or in an intake duct leading thereto, preferably in a V-shaped scalloping, opposite two opposing orifices of the intake ducts 7, 8. An automatic thermostat system 36, 38 acts on the control motor 28 of the air regulation flap 26, in order to adjust the position the flap as a function of the temperature of the hot air flow, in the outlet duct of the chamber 32, in order to regulate the proportions of the flow rate of fresh air and of the flow rate of ambient air arriving in the mixing chamber 32, or to interrupt, if required, the flow rate of cold air intake. Improvement of efficiency by means of an automatic regulation. <IMAGE>
