PURPOSE:To cast continuously a thin metallic plate having a uniform thickness by forming a specific slope toward an aperture to the inside base of a nozzle body so that the flow of the molten metal ejected from the nozzle is made uniform in thickness. CONSTITUTION:A nozzle body 1 has an aperture 8 at the inside base which forms a slope toward the aperture 8 in the rotating direction of a roll. The angle alpha between the front slope in the rotating direction of the roll and the tangent of the roll is larger than the angle alpha' between the rear slope in the rotating direction of the roll and the tangent of the roll. The molten metal ejected from the nozzle gushes out inclinedly toward the rotating direction of the roll and therefore even if the rotating speed of the roll is low, the molten metal does not scatter in the direction opposite from the rotating direction of the roll. A thin metallic plate having good surface accuracy and uniform thickness is thus continuously cast. |
