MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To always obtain a stable reproduction output envelope by loading a magnetic head supported by a support member which is displaced with oscillation by a piezoelectric element to a rotary head. CONSTITUTION:A head supporter plate 26 containing a magnetic head 25 at its tip is supported with free oscillation by a supporter plate 29 of a lamination type thickness slip piezoelectric element 28 which is welded to a cut part 23a of an upper drum 23 of a rotary head 21 and a supporter plate 27 welded to a cut part 23a. For the element 28, the polarization axes are parallel to each other and laminated with the polarizing directions set opposite and alternately to each other. Thus the element 28 is deformed with application of voltage. A magnetic head 25 has a vertical contact with a magnetic tape 40 and this contact position is changed by applying the positive and negative voltages to the element 28. Thus it is possible to secure an assured contact between the head and the tape even at the areas close to the start and the end of the contact with a highly stable contact state secured. This always secures a stable envelope.
