PURPOSE:To prevent excessive pressure from working on a pressure sensing element by a method wherein excessive pressure prevention mechanisms are built in separate units of the same structure and two excessive pressure prevention units thus obtained are arranged symmetrically into the body cases of the symmetrical configuration to check the movement of a pressure transmission medium. CONSTITUTION:When pressures Pa and Pb within an allowable detection range are applied from pressure introduction ports 40a and 40b of pressure receiving flanges 41a and 41b respectively, pressure receiving diaphragms 38a and 38b are displaced according to the pressures Pa and Pb to move pressure transmission mediums 39a and 39b. With the movement of the pressure transmission mediums 39a and 39b, differential pressure of Pa-Pb is generated on both surfaces of a pressure sensing element 36 and converted into an electrical signal to be outputted. When a pressure exceeding the elastic limit of the pressure sensing element 36 is applied, the first and second excessive pressure prevention units 32a and 32b operate to protect the pressure sensing element 36. |
