PURPOSE:To obtain a tape cassette having a U-shaped rotary cover which can be used in its both sides A and B with assured actuation, by having such a simple constitution where either one or both of right and left feet of the cover is pushed and bent to release the engaging state of the cover and then the cover is opened. CONSTITUTION:A projection part 10 of a U-shaped rotary cover 2 is fitted to a recessed part 14 formed at the partitioning crosspiece of an opening part while the cover 2 closes the cassette main body 1. When the cover 2 is opened, one or both of right and left feet 5 are pushed from the cassette side surface. Thus the cover 2 produces the bend with a U-shaped folded part 2a defined as a fulcrum, and the center part of the cover is detached from the cassette main body 1. As a result, the engaging between both parts 10 and 14 is released. Then the cover 2 is turned round a rotary shaft 6 and can be opened.
