The subject of the invention is a test installation for a steam generator 10 combined with a boiler, comprising a test exchanger 2 connected to a secondary-fluid supply system 40 and to a system 41 for removing the steam produced, and comprising a bundle of heating tubes 21 connected to a closed circuit 3 for circulating a primary fluid at the same temperature and at the same pressure as the secondary fluid. According to the invention, the bundle of heating tubes 21 of the test exchanger 2 has a height equal to that of the primary bundle 11 of the steam generator 10 and the test exchanger 2 is placed at the same level and next to the steam generator 10 and is supplied by the same secondary fluid so as to be subjected to the same operating phases over a long period.
