The subject of the invention is a water raiser for village wells allowing water to be extracted manually at depths which may reach 40 metres. The raiser comprises an endless cable 1 over which there are slipped dishes 2 whose edges are spaced (between two successive dishes); the result is an increased retention power by the dual function container on the one hand and capillarity on the other hand, the assembly participating in enhancing its yield. The ordinary model envisages a flow rate of 1.8 cubic metres, i.e. 0.5 l/sec. The field of application is the raising of water and its impact upon agriculture throughout the world. <IMAGE>
