PURPOSE:To manufacture a hardened build-up welding metal having superior wear resistance and seizing resistance by heat treating a build-up welding metal having a specified composition consisting of C, Si, Mn, Cr, Mo, V and Fe at a proper temp. CONSTITUTION:A build-up welding metal consisting of, by weight, 0.15-0.40% C, 0.20-0.50% Si, 0.2-2.0% Mn, 12.0-16.0% Cr, 0.2-0.6% Mo, 0.2-0.6% V and the balance Fe with inevitable elements or further contg. 0.05-0.20% Zr is heat treated at 520-580 deg.C to cause the secondary hardening of Mo and V and to carry out stress relief annealing. A hardened build-up welding metal having superior wear resistance and seizing resistance and suitable for the surface buildup welding of an iron manufacturing roll or the like is obtd. |
