PURPOSE:To prevent recesses and projections produced at a part near a magnetoresistance effect element due to the wear of the driving surface of a recording medium, by forming the 2nd nonmagnetic material on the 1st nonmagnetic material filled at a corner part of a magnetic permeable substrate and providing a magnetic permeable film group containing an MR element on the 2nd nonmagnetic material. CONSTITUTION:The 1st nonmagnetic material 15a is filled into a groove 2 at a corner part of a magnetic permeable substrate 1, and a thin film of the 2nd nonmagnetic material 15b is formed to a groove 16 formed later and finished to the same level as the surface of the substrate 1. Then a nonmagnetic insulated material 17 is provided, and a magnetic permeable film MR4b having a magneto- resistance effect is formed in a prescribed form. Then an electrode 5 is formed and a magnetic permeable film 14 is formed via a nonmagnetic insulated film 13. In such a constitution, a part near a signal detecting magnetic permeable film can be formed with a material having high hardness. This can prevent the deterioration of reproduction characteristics due to recesses and projections caused by the wear of the driving surface of a recording medium. |
