A protective cap which can be connected permanently to the upper end of an aerosol spray can, having a lateral spraying opening assigned to the spraying valve, is provided on its upper side with an opening through which an actuating member is accessible which is guided movably in the cap. The actuating member can be moved counter to a restoring force firstly from a position of rest horizontally into an intermediate position and, from the intermediate position, counter to the restoring force of the spraying valve of the aerosol spray can in its direction of actuation. As a tamper-proof closure, the actuating member is blocked by a destructible blocking device in its position of rest.
