PURPOSE:To improve the cold starting performance of an engine by detecting the perfect combustion of the engine and transmitting the power of the engine into an air pump by a driving means and driving the air pump. CONSTITUTION:When an engine starts in coldness where warming is necessary, the power of the engine 1 is not transmitted to an air pump 2 by the OFF-operation of an electromagnetic clutch 4, and is not driven immediately. If, after the start, the engine 1 perfectly operates, and the operation of the engine is stabilized, the electromagnetic clutch 4 is ON-operated by the output of the ON-signal supplied from a perfect-combustion detecting means 39 for detecting the stable operation of the engine, and the power of the engine 1 is transmitted to the air pump 2, which is driven. Therefore, the load on starting of the engine is reduced, and the engine 1 can be started smoothly and certainly, and the cold starting performance of the engine 1 can be improved. |
