PURPOSE:To increase the thrust and to facilitate the positioning control of a linear motor by reducing an air gap at the moving time and increasing the gap at the position stopping time. CONSTITUTION:A movable element 16 receives a thrust in a longitudinal direction of a stator 14 by exciting in the prescribed order exciting coils 19, wheels 30 roll to linearly move. In this case, motor 25 is driven to increase the thrust, and an air gap 32 between the element 16 and the stator 14 can be reduced by transmitting a rotary motion through a belt 26 to a shaft 27. The motor 25 is driven reversely at the position stop controlling time, and inconvenience cocking force for accurate position stop control is reduced by increasing an air gap 33 between the element 16 and the stator 14. |
