<p>A chemical agent detection device (10) responsive to liquid droplets has a chemical agent detector (11) mounted below a droplet collector assembly which includes an air permeable surface member (14) disposed to intercept falling droplets and cause vaporization of the intercepted droplets into a single air stream drawn through surface member (14). The sample air stream containing the droplet vapor is conducted to the sample inlet (29) of detector (11). The device (10) is usable to detect a wide variety of chemical agents, including nerve agents, pesticides or herbicides.</p> |
