In an apparatus for the reduction of the dew point temperature of exhaust gases which can be produced by a burner (2) provided with a fan (5) and which can be passed to a chimney (4) through a flue conduit (3) placed on a heat exchanger (1) acted on by the burner (2), complete independence of the flow conditions in the heat exchanger (1) from the chimney flue is achieved when the delivery side of the fan (5) of the burner (2) is connected by means of a bypass duct (7) to the flue conduit (3). Due to the forced supply of air to the flue conduit (3) by the burner fan (5), even such a small chimney draught is sufficient here in an advantageous manner that an automatic intake of air does not take place when the burner is inoperative. <IMAGE>
