The invention relates to a tool for releasing electrical plug connections, especially CEE round-plug connections, consisting of a plug part and a socket part. The tool consists of a flat workpiece which on one side has a U-shaped recess whose width is equal to or slightly larger than the external diameter of the part of the plug of the plug connection which is inserted into the socket of the plug connection, so that the tool can be inserted by means of the recess between the plug and socket, which surrounds the plug tightly, and such that the plug and socket can easily be separated by pivoting the tool in the longitudinal direction of the plug connection. <IMAGE>
