PURPOSE:To obtain a probe excellent in pulse response capability with high sensitivity in a wide band by using PVDF of PVDF polumerization as a piezo- electric material and installing a double layer impedance matching layer whose respective layer are provided with suitable acoustic impedance. CONSTITUTION:So as not to remove the ultrasonic wave from an organic piezo- electric material 20 consisting of PVDF or PVDF copolymer through a backing material 21, the material, for which the acoustic impedance density is sufficiently lower and higher than the organic piezo-electric material 20, is used as the backing material 21. The 1st and 2nd matching layer 24 and 25 are installed, and the acoustic impedance density is 2.5X10<6>-3.6X10<6>kg/S.cm<2> and 1.6X10<6>- 2.2X10<6>kg/S.cm<2>. Thus, the wide band impedance can be matched and the frequency band width can be remarkably expanded. |
