PURPOSE:To output quickly a desired area from plural areas inside an original by providing a means to select a desired picture from the plural picture areas in a copying machine, and also an output means to output a selected picture in the desired order or in the desired form. CONSTITUTION:A CPU computes speed on the basis of scale factor inputted by keys, calculates PLL frequency corresponding to the speed to preset the frequency in an I/O latch 58 before scanning. A dither ROM54 is set to output the same weighed code (6 bits) with a main scanning direction at interval of 8 bits and also with a sub-scanning direction at interval of 8 bits, and 32 types of weighed codes are allotted in matrix of this 8X8=64 bits. Selection of this weighed code combination is performed by an I/O latch 53. Six bit weighed code from the ROM54 and six bit code converted into A/D are compared by a comparator 47, and a binary, serial, half tone reproducable picture signal is obtained.
