In a microscope having an objective turret and having a motor which is connected to the objective turret for driving purposes and can be shut down automatically in the individual turret positions, during objective changing there is additionally provided in a known way, between initial and final positions, for the purpose of motorised turret rotation at least one further motor movement, which moves the object and/or objective from its initial position, and the microscope parts remain in this (moved-away) position until a signal (e.g. pressing of a key) causes the return to the initial position.
