A percussive and/or rotary tool is proposed which is suitable for being inserted with its shank into the three-jaw chuck of a powered hand tool. The tool shank (2) has longitudinal knurling (3) which extends at least over part of the total length of the tool shank (2). Thus - depending on the cross-sectional shape of the jaws of a chuck used - a more or less positive-locking driving connection is ensured between tool shank (2) and chuck jaws. <IMAGE>
