In a method for conveying water, an intermediate storage container is first supplied with steam, which has been generated with the aid of solar energy. The steam is then condensed by feeding in small amounts of fresh water. The reduced pressure which arises in the intermediate storage vessel in the process is utilised to draw water into the intermediate storage vessel.
