An industrial furnace has an insulation (4) of mineral fibre material arranged on its inner walls, the material being composed of block-shaped fibre modules (5), electrical resistance heaters (8) with which the internal space (2) of the furnace can be heated, support elements (7) for the suspension of the heating conductors (8) on the furnace walls, and also mountings connected to the support elements and anchored in the fibre modules (5). So that the mounting can carry even relatively large weights of heating conductors without problems, without the heat storage capacity of the furnace wall being increased, the mountings consist of support plates (6) which are respectively inserted in the essentially horizontal separating gaps between two fibre modules (5) placed one above the other.
