The invention, which relates to a tolerance-ring connection between two parts, of which at least one is composed of a low-strength material, renders superfluous the metal sleeve hitherto necessary for such a part by the fact that the tolerance ring has larger surfaces of contact with the low-strength part than with the high-strength part, the total size of these contact surfaces being determined by the reciprocal quotients of the strength and elasticity characteristics of the materials concerned. This results in an enlargement of the surface of contact of the tolerance ring with the low-strength part and hence a reduction in the unit pressure. The tolerance ring with its large load-bearing surface takes over the function of the metal sleeve hitherto used (Fig. 4). <IMAGE>
