PURPOSE:To shorten the working time as much as possible by providing a feed control means for changing the timing to exchange the feeding speed of work head from quick feed to biting feed on the basis of the shape and thickness of lens blank. CONSTITUTION:Upon fixing of grinding wheel 6 and a chuck, a pulse signal is produced from X-axis and Y-axis drive sections 15D, 15E of controller 15 to rotate the tool head moving motor M2 and turning table motor M3 accordingly thus to set the cup-shaped grinding wheel 6. Upon provision of pulse signal corresponding with the interval ZI-ZII cauculated on the basis of the shape of lens blank 1 from Z-axis drive section 15F, work head motor M1 will rotate to move the work head 3 from the loading position ZI to quick feed terminal position ZII and fed quickly because of short pulse period while upon provision of signal corresponding with the interval ZI-ZII, the head 3 will move to the biting feed terminal point ZIII and fed with faint speed because of long pulse period resulting in shortening of working time. |
