PURPOSE:To improve water stop capacity of a valve by forming liquid pressure chambers on two-divided valve bodies and providing water seal members which are pushed into the liquid pressure chambers by specified water pressure. CONSTITUTION:A valve body 10 is divided into two parts about valve shafts 15, 16. Liquid pressure chambers 23 are formed on the respective semicircule sides and provided with seal member guide protions 12. The valve shaft 15 is coupled to a valve opening and closing mechanism 18 so taht the valve body 10 is driven to open and close. A water seal member 20 is slidably fitted in the liquid pressure chamber 23 formed on the valve body 10. During operation of a water wheel, the valve body 10 is open so that the water seal member 29 is pushed back into the valve body 10 by the external pressure. When the water wheel 3 is stopped and a water wheel outlet valve 5 is closed, application of operation liquid pressure 14 expands the water seal member 20 so that a water seal contact portion 21 is closely adhered to a valve seat 8. |
